A subscription is a content source that Nudget monitors on your behalf. You enter a URL — a YouTube channel, a Substack newsletter, a Reddit subreddit, a LinkedIn profile, or any web page — and Nudget automatically detects the platform type, begins collecting new content as it's published, and feeds it into your daily AI briefing. You define up to 5 lenses (such as "AI", "Startup", or "Developer Tools"), optionally with a description to fine-tune matching, and the AI automatically classifies each piece of incoming content into the appropriate lens section. This means your briefing arrives pre-organized by topic instead of as a flat list. With Strict mode enabled, content that doesn't match any lens is excluded entirely — useful when you want laser focus on specific topics across all your subscriptions.

## How It Works

1. You define interest lenses (e.g., "AI", "Developer Tools")
2. When your digest is built, AI matches each piece of content to the relevant lens
3. Your digest is delivered with topic-based sections

## Setting Up Lenses

You can add up to **5** lenses on the Settings page.

### Basic Lenses

Just enter a lens name. AI matches related content based on the name.

Examples: `AI`, `Startup`, `Design`

### Lenses with Detail

Add a description to fine-tune how content is matched. (Max 200 characters)

Examples:

## Strict Mode

**Strict mode** excludes any content that doesn't match a lens from your digest.

* **Off** (default): Unmatched content appears in an "Other" section

API keys are used for MCP server authentication. Generate and manage them on the Settings page.

## Generate a Key

Nudget provides a [Model Context Protocol (MCP)](https://modelcontextprotocol.io) server. Manage your subscriptions, content, and digests directly from AI tools like Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, and more.

1. You need a Nudget account.

## Two Ways to Get Newsletters into Nudget

## Method A: Subscribe Directly

The simplest approach — use your Nudget forwarding address as the email when subscribing to any newsletter.

## Method B: Auto-Forward from Gmail

If you're already subscribed to newsletters in Gmail, set up auto-forwarding so they're automatically sent to Nudget. You only need to do this once per newsletter.

### Step 1: Add your Nudget address as a forwarding destination

    Gmail sends a verification email to your Nudget address. Nudget automatically forwards it to your real email, so check your inbox for the verification code. Enter the code in Gmail to confirm.

### Step 2: Create a filter for each newsletter

Repeat this for each newsletter you want to forward. From now on, every new issue is automatically sent to Nudget.

  You can forward multiple newsletters to the same Nudget address. Each sender is automatically recognized as a separate subscription.

## Troubleshooting

<Warning>
  **Verification email not appearing?** Nudget forwards verification emails to your real email address. Check your inbox (and spam folder). It may take a minute to arrive.

  **Newsletters not arriving?** Some email providers may flag forwarded emails as spam. In Gmail, make sure the filter is active under **Settings → Filters and Blocked Addresses**.

# Slack Integration

Get your digests delivered to a Slack channel. Connect your workspace and receive briefings in Slack alongside email.

## Setup

Get started with Nudget in minutes

## 1. Sign Up

Go to [Nudget](https://nudget.app) and sign in with your Google account.

## 2. Add a Subscription

In the **Subscriptions** tab on your dashboard, click **Add Subscription** and enter the URL you want to monitor.

## 3. Set Your Interests

Add lenses on the **Settings** page. Lenses organize your briefing into topic-based sections.

Examples:

* `AI` — Artificial intelligence content
* `Developer Tools` (detail: "focused on open source") — Fine-tuned filtering

Customize your briefing delivery in Settings.
